Brett R. Birkill

Founder - Managing Director

Brett developed a passion for property from a young age.  By purchasing his first property at age 22, Brett’s love affair with bricks and mortar began and from that point onwards has never ceased.  Brett’s passion has turned into the backbone to the formation of Birkill Pty Ltd.

With a long history in business starting since the day he left school and culminating in the sale a start-up workwear business in 2017 to an international workwear giant for a 8 figure sum, Brett has seen business highs, lows and everything in between. 

“My first car was a Mr. Whippy van. I used to park in a housing estate in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne and sell gelati and hot dogs at the weekend.  Then vending machines, clothing, importing, Prime Mover Workwear and the ultimate sale of that business plus loads more, I have enjoyed every minute but still feel this is just the start! Property has always been a part of what I have done. 

This experience has seen Brett deal with partners across the globe, creating relationships with everybody from the corner store to international public company executives. 

“The greatest part of business and in particular property is that it ultimately property touches everyone from day one. From being born in a hospital to heading home for the first time with your mum and dad, to growing up and beyond, houses, properties and Real Estate is always there somewhere in some form.”  

Whether a first home buyer or a listed property fund, Brett believes everyone has something special to offer and he loves interaction no matter who you are or where you come from.  “My vision at Birkill Pty Ltd is to develop properties that touch people and have an impact on peoples lives now and into the future.  We are here for the long term and can’t wait to work with more and more people passing on all I have learnt to enhance others”.

Whatever the pursuit, property has always been the one constant.  With more than 20 years’ experience incorporating commercial, rural and residential property Brett’s passion will deliver the very best overall property package and experience to all clients of Birkill now and in the future.

Wandy Birkill

Founder – Director

Wandy has unmatched communication skills and thrives on being part of the conversation. Fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin and English, Wandy excels in liaising with business partners and associate’s world-wide.  Wandy’s real estate experience and know how encompasses multiple countries and spans decades.  Her rich Chinese and Cantonese heritage is a natural match to land, buildings and property. 

Wandy has a proven long-term record of successfully running import and export trading programs, managing businesses with trade in excess of $20m per annum.   This sourcing and trade experience brings an expertise to Birkill Pty Ltd allowing Wandy the ability to source superior products and materials increasing the features and benefits of all Birkill Development properties. Equally as impressive is Wandy’s ability to interact with clients, ensuring the right fit for clients is achieved with regards to the finished product that Birkill delivers.  Experience, understanding and a vision for better property developments and materials and products now and into the future is what Wandy strives to deliver each day.

Glen Cairney

Master Builder  

Glen brings 30 years of hands on building and construction experience from a vast variety of sectors including roofing, flooring, demolition, concrete and carpentry.  As a fully licenced Victorian Building Authority Master Builder, Glen not only has hands on experience but he possess many educational strengths over years of combining high level theory with on site practice.  Glen’s attention to detail, fast, smart and accurate calculations and estimations run alongside his ability to deal and work with all different trades and industries.  His knowledge and hands on know how is passed down the line for the overall benefit of the end product ensuring better homes today that last long into the future.

Eddie Li

Financial Controller

Eddie brings to Birkill a lifetime of financial and accounting experience having been a Certified Practicing Accountant for more than 40 years.  During his professional career Eddie has owned and managed multiple accounting firms and leading large teams of professionals.  Eddie’s extensive experience with corporate finance and structures including property and property development delivers great benefits to Birkill. 

Eddie holds a Bachelor of Commence and is a member of CPA Australia.  His great depth of taxation and accounting experience will assist Birkill in future strategic planning and implementation of its property development ventures.

Kenny Wong

Finance Manager

Kenny is an accounting professional bringing decades of experience to Birkill.  With extensive management across all types of businesses and structures including property development companies, Kenny is perfectly placed to add great value to the future of Birkill.

Kenny holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and has worked as a specialist accountant both in Australia and abroad.

Tim Fenning

Development Manager

Tim is a highly accomplished professional with a 15-year track record in town planning, building design and subdivisions. His versatility shines through diverse projects, including medium to high-density townhouses, luxurious homes, modern apartments, commercial shops, factories, medical centres and childcare facilities.

Tim's expertise and keen eye for detail make him a sought-after industry expert. His impact on numerous communities and developments is evident in the functional and aesthetically pleasing spaces he creates. Irene Lim

Office Administrator

Irene brings to Birkill 16 years of public accountant and office management experience from multiple fields including tax and accounting, the clothing industry and property construction and development. 

Being highly organised, computer literate and possessing attention to detail, Irene ensures every aspect of the office is running smoothly and on time.  Fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese languages, this experience and skill set provides Irene with the added advantage of being able to relate to and deal with a large cross section of people.
